This is a mail-in service. You send us your ECU and we reflash it to your custom specifications. Note – We know we're offering this service at a price point considerably lower than our competitors. We are offering a service equal to or better than any of our competitors and with unparalleled support. We will make sure that every ECU is right for each rider. This is the same ECU flash we use on our championship-winning YZF-R1 race bikes. Feedback from this service can be seen HERE. We can return the ECU to stock if needed, free of charge.
We will give your bike an additional 9-12 rear wheel horsepower and remove all throttle and timing restrictions on the bike from the factory that US model crossplane R1s have. This does not impact reliability. We then fine tune, much like the YEC race ECU. You'll have a much more responsive and smooth throttle. Various fuel maps are available for bikes with stock exhaust, a full system, slip ons or a 3/4 (cat-back) exhaust system.
Options include:
Remove all throttle based restrictions
Default to "A" mode (bike starts in A mode)
Remove all speed and gear based restrictions
Optimize ignition timing for 91+ octane fuel

Load Power Commander maps directly onto your ECU

We have several preconfigured ECU images that have been track tested and will work great for your bike, or we can make optimal setting recommendations for your own customized image.
Your ECU is located on the left hand (clutch) side of the bike. Remove the 5 silver 6mm allen bolts on the left fairing with the "R1" logo on it, then remove the 3 plastic push rivets on the inner fairing. Remove the fairing and the ecu will be visible. Simply disconnect the two wire harness connectors and pop the ECU from its mounting bracket.

Your flash completely woke up my r1!! I thought it was fast enough, but didn’t like the jerky throttle. It’s a lot faster now but so much easier to control. I like how I have full power in all of the modes , but each is different for different types of riding.
SBU delivers on everything they promise here, my R1 is so much better is so many ways! I have not had my bike on a dyno but I can definitely tell there is a nice power increase all throughout the Rev range from top to bottom and it is so much smoother now taking off in first gear. My bike runs cooler now and my speedometer reads perfectly accurate. This is the by far the best mod I have done to my bike so far and would highly recommend anyone with an R1 to get this done ASAP!
Before my flash my R1 was so sluggish and my throttle response was not very responsive but once
superbike unlimited flashed my Ecu 100% difference. bike is so much smoother and way more responsive in the throttle. if you own a 2009-2014 R1 this is definitely a need for you to have
the FULL potential of this bike.

Is is possible to but the system ECU flash and doing flashing myself after I bought the system flash from SBU? As I am in South Africa and it way expensive shipping cost to send my ECU and shipping back to my country.
If you are riding a supersport that isn’t ECU flashed, you are absolutely missing the real experience. Sure, it gives you more power but more importantly, it gives you unrestricted control over the throttle. It’s much faster but also extremely more responsive which makes your ride more controllable.
